The most important consequences of a company keeping its ERP system inefficient and unproductive for too long are really twofold:
- Cost increase
- Decrease in competitiveness
Knowing this, why, then, do many companies delay the decision to upgrade their ERP?
The fundamental reason is usually fear and uncertainty about what is to come: deviations in budgets, timing, stress in the organization, impact on the business, etc.
This is why we announce the availability for the use of a new tool, in the Spanish market, free of charge and without any further commitment, which helps you to make a serious and rigorous approach to the migration to Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&SCM, based exclusively on the reality of your current ERP Dynamics AX software, its customizations, integrations and data. The Microsoft Dynamics® Migration Advisor (DUA), intellectual property of CuroGens, is a tool designed and built by part of the original Axapta/Damgaard team, which takes the uncertainties out of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&SCM migration process. DUA will help you understand the impact and requirements of the migration project to the latest version of Microsoft Dynamics 365. DUA is a free, online assessment that will help you determine the optimal migration strategy and path, its benefits and a first economic, time and effort estimate for a successful implementation, without the need to purchase any service or contractual relationship. Your information is confidential and will not be provided to third parties.

DUA is carried out in four phases and includes:
1. Exhaustive inventory of your customizations and integrations in your current AX/Dynamics system.
At the beginning of the process the Microsoft Dynamics® Migration Advisor (DUA) will access your system to collect the information to be used in the subsequent analysis. The objectives of this phase are:
- Identify your current application architecture. This information will be used to analyze your current developments and determine the best way to move them to Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&SCM.
- Check which functionalities are currently in use and how well they support your processes.
- Make a first screening of the functionalities and/or applications that do not add value.
Following a very simple and quick process operation, to be carried out jointly by our DUA manager and a member of your IT team, you will be asked for contact information, for the subsequent delivery of the information, and then you will be asked to enter basic technical data such as server address, server port number and others, all of which are included in documentation that is passed to the customer, as a previous step to the start of the DUA processes.
2. First estimate of migration complexity, in real time
DUA complements the standard migration procedures and tools provided by Microsoft LCS (such as clean up, SQL optimization and others) improving their performance by adapting them to the particular context of each version, environment and client to be migrated, in order to obtain the first best results on the prediction of the complexity of your migration. These results will be based on several factors including the number of customizations and integrations, obsolete functions that cannot be migrated to Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&SCM, ISV components, etc, which will be analyzed from the experience of Curogens, both in terms of technical knowledge of the standard code, as well as migrations in companies of similar complexity (benchmarked).
3. Dashboard for future migration
After the first complexity estimation process, we will analyze your database to obtain a preliminary scorecard-type report, more complex and with more detail than the previous ones, on key aspects of the migration. This report will further delve into the complexity of the migration and help determine the timelines and costs associated with a guaranteed and smooth transition to a new Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&SCM environment.
4. Free consulting session with a Dynamics migration expert
The final step will be a more in-depth review of the results of the work performed. One of our migration specialists will contact you to explain what we consider to be the key aspects of the migration and to agree on the optimal migration path from Dynamics/AX to Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&SCM.
