If we look for information about migration or upgrade to Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&SCM, we will see that everyone seems to agree that this is the right time to upgrade our old versions of Axapta and Dynamics 2009 and 2012 to Dynamics 365.

But, is now really the best time to migrate to Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&SCM? Why?

The most important reasons to consider migrating, as soon as possible, from previous AX or Dynamics versions to MD 365 F&SCM are, fundamentally, the following:

1. OBSOLESCENCE:

    • Incompatibility of previous versions with current applications such as DB SQL Server, Office, Mobility, Windows OS, etc.
    • Discontinuity of manufacturer’s support

2. Maturity of the current version. The reality is that we are already, relatively, far from version 1.0. There are a large number of companies working with MD 365 F&SCM for more than a year, and even more, that are testing the maturity of the application, both at a functional and technical level.

3. COSTS

    • Cost of BREP. The sooner you migrate, the sooner you bring value to us.

    • Cost of SYSTEM MAINTENANCE:
      • CORRECTIVE Maintenance. A single version (One Version) greatly simplifies corrective maintenance, both in terms of number of bugs and standard software corrections.
      • EVOLUTIONARY maintenance. This will also be a section that will have to be significantly reduced for two reasons:
        • The entire product evolution of MD 365 functionality is available to all customers.
        • In Microsoft AppSource there is already a huge multitude of IP solutions developed by ISVs.

      • MANAGED SERVICES. With Continuous Update, managed services are critical in the MD 365 F&SCM environment.

    • . Costs due to RISKS inherent to the on premise version:
      • High availability not available or poorly planned
      • Disaster Recovery not available or poorly planned
      • Virus-affected backups

  1. COMPETITIVENESS

From the very moment the new version of MD 365 F&SCM goes live, your company will have access to a number of technologies that can substantially improve critical processes for your competitiveness: IOT, AI, etc. For more information contact us.
